Water is life and without it, life would be inexistence. As the population increases, water is becoming more and more scarce. Water pollution is also on the rise and this is where water treatment systems come in to purify the dirty water into drinkable and useable water. Below are some of the latest technologies in this field.

1. Proportional Brining

What comes to mind when people talk about water softeners is the usage of salt. Various products in the market claim that they are saltless conditioners, but that is not entirely true. Experts use a technique called proportional brining, and the most reputable brand is Evolve. How proportional brining works is by measuring the amount of water consumed in a home and then determining the ideal amount of salt that will be required to clean the unit. The use of salt cant be completely eliminated, but it can be minimized. Some units even use as little as six bags of salt in a year.

2. Air Systems

This is another cutting-edge technology. This technology involves air systems. Air is a natural oxidizer, and that is why the older technology involved air injectors that were installed in the lines to suck the air into the piping. The air passing through the piping would cause oxidation. The iron would end up being sticky and clingy, and this would result to the piping being stopped from the point of air where the air entered the pipe to where the iron is being removed. With the new system, the air is held above the media that removes the metal. After this, the water falls through the air hence enhancing oxidation. The new systems are more efficient than the old ones, and they are easier to maintain.

3. Municipal Water Units

With the municipal water, two things are being treated, and that is the hardness of the water and chlorine. With the old technology, two separate units had to be installed to complete each of the tasks. The hardness of the water would be treated through, and the chlorine would be eliminated using carbon filters. However, with the new technology, a single unit is used for the treatment. There is a resin at the bottom and carbon at the top, and a mid plate separates them. Combining the two units is effective at reducing the amount of salt and water being used.

4. Well Water Units

There is a unit that is primarily used with well water. Well, water often has nuisance bacteria that are not harmful but have a potent smell. When the bacteria accumulate in the filtration system over time, they cause the water that is passing through it to pick up the foul odor. The unit that is built for well water has a sanitizer that is useful in sanitizing the unit. The bacteria present is eliminated along with the bad smell.
